What I Learned From Andre 3000
The creator of the Global Hit "Hey, Ya!" has pivoted and the reasons why are so profound to me!
Hey fellow dads,
As a lightweight hip-hop enthusiast, I remember the initial excitement when André 3000, half of the legendary OutKast and the mastermind behind the global hit "Hey Ya!", announced his new album. However, my enthusiasm quickly turned to “What The F***” when I realized it was a flute album. Like many fans, I was initially disappointed, but after watching his interview with GQ, I gained a deeper appreciation for his decision.
One particularly striking quote from the interview that resonated deeply with me was, "Be honest about what you are doing… You don't want to fail because you were trying to mimic something else." This statement perfectly encapsulates what I try to teach my children and how I strive to be. It is the essence of authenticity and represents the importance of following one's own path, even if it leads to unexpected outcomes.
In life, we often face the challenge of balancing conformity with individuality. We may feel pressure to conform to societal expectations or follow trends, but André 3000's words encourage us to prioritize our own passions and express ourselves honestly, even if it means facing criticism or disapproval.
Personally, I've learned that embracing my authentic self has brought greater fulfillment and happiness. Sure, there have been ups and downs, but I've discovered that the path of my unique blend individuality, while challenging, is ultimately more rewarding than chasing external validation or mimicking others. Hence, this newsletter! Thanks For Your Attention!
So, my fellow dads, let's take inspiration from André 3000 and embrace our unique voices as fathers, husbands, and MEN! We may face challenges along the way, but the rewards of authenticity will far outweigh the temporary discomfort of stepping outside our comfort zones. Remember, it's better to die on your own sword than fall to your death following the crowd.
🍻Cheers to your own flute album!

Where I Found My Dad-spiration This Week
I saw a cartoon of Andre 300 dressed as the Green Ranger blowing into the flute side of the Green Ranger’s dagger. As I chuckled at the image it suddenly all made sense. That man is comfortable in who he’s become and would betray his current self if he were to try to pretend to be an old version of himself.
The new 3 stacks is a flutist for now!
I liked the cartoon so much I decisded to make a wallpaper for my computer screens. Feel Free To Download!
